This double degree combination offers you genuine breadth of choice, with 39 majors and minors across the arts, humanities and social sciences available to complement your studies in business.

International business provides you with an interdisciplinary understanding of issues affecting contemporary international firms, their strategy, corporate policies and operations. International business develops your knowledge and skills for the international economic, financial, political, legal, managerial and strategic environment of business.

Our International Management course provides a comprehensive and exciting approach to learning about international business. This course is an exciting blend of international business studies and global affairs and will teach you how businesses and economies operate across the world. This course offers a range of topics for you to explore, including international business, emerging markets, modern languages, economics, and many more. You will also take a placement year or study abroad in your third year, allowing you to gain valuable international experience and enhance your career prospects.

Studying International Management (BSc) encourages a wide range of relevant, highly transferable and sought-after skills.

These help to prepare you for the challenges you will face after university; everything from a career in a multinational corporation to starting and running your own business.

This programme combines a four-year degree in International Business with a bespoke foundation year, providing a smooth pathway for you as an international or EU student whose prior education or English language proficiency does not enable you to apply directly for a four-year degree.

The programme will equip you with the skills you need to anyalyse complex business issues, make judgements and operate flexibly and effectively in business organisations. In the third year of your degree, you will spend a year abroad at one of our international partner universities, where you'll benefit from the exposure to different cultural settings and gain international experience.

During your studies, you'll examine the key strategic issues and challenges that organisations face today in their effort to compete in a globalised world. You’ll understand the complexity of business, taking into account the institutional and social context within which business is executed. You’ll also be capable of opposite judgments on business concerns and learn to apply the concepts of business to particular cases and make reasoned and substantiated judgments.

The programme will include aspects of international competitive strategies, globalisation, regional studies, quantitative methods, economics, open innovation and sharing economies, information and communication technologies, data analytics, global platforms, global supply chains, cross-cultural management, global sustainability and global marketing.

This four-year degree focuses on developing both your business and language skills, so you graduate ready for a fast-paced career in a global and complex business environment.

You'll gain core business skills, in human resource management, finance and strategy. Language proficiency is integral to this degree and you can choose from Chinese, French, German or Spanish.

During the third year of your degree, you'll be studying or working abroad, giving you the opportunity to improve your language skills, while also experiencing another culture. 

You'll leave University as a proficient linguist, equipped with the skills, knowledge and experience needed for a management career in international, multinational, or global organisations.

Our BA combines rigorous academic study with practical skills. The course is unique in structure: most courses with a year abroad last four years - we deliver ours in three.

We've carefully chosen our partner universities so that the quality of education you receive on the year abroad is the same high quality that you get at Sheffield and, crucially, counts towards your final degree classification.

Year one modules give you a comprehensive understanding of core business, including behaviour at work, quantitative methods, marketing, strategic management, business ethics and economics. Your study includes skills-based modules that cover essential accounting and decision-making techniques.

Studying International Relations at Lancaster will develop your ability to think in global terms – and to understand the nature of the political, economic and environmental challenges that confront us in the twenty-first century.

The international business major is part of the nationally recognized JMU College of Business. Most business, government, and not-for-profit enterprises operate today in a global environment. Success is more certain for those who are aware of events and cultures outside of their own. The program's goal is to equip students with the ability to work comfortably in multiple areas of the global marketplace through interdisciplinary study. International business majors take specialized courses in all the business disciplines (e.g. international accounting, international marketing) as well as courses in a foreign language.

The international business major helps students develop an understanding of the global macroeconomic environment and the complexities of cross-border transactions. International business is an interdisciplinary field and courses focus on knowledge acquisition as well as application of concepts. A selected regional emphasis provides a platform to gain language and area studies knowledge that often underpins successful adaptation for regional and local markets. The embedded study abroad requirement helps students develop cross-cultural awareness and skills.

International business careers span industries and economic sectors, and business functions and geographies, and often include domestic positions with global scope. Positions in international business involve strategy, leadership, research, government relations, creativity, technical expertise, and cultural fluency.

International Business prepares students to manage business and/or business operations with a global mindset. A global mindset involves a multifaceted approach to understanding cultural differences, political and governing bodies, and financial variances found in the international marketplace. 

International Management professionals apply their cross-cultural and global analytic skills to solving complex challenges facing businesses across many global industries.  The dynamic business environment requires professionals trained to identify global trends and skilled in approaching modern global dilemmas with cultural sensitivity and specific knowledge of the regions of the world where they work.  Modern management of international business requires leaders who will model socially responsible behavior for corporate performance that considers economic, environmental, social, and governance impacts.

The international business concentration prepares students for leadership positions in multi-national corporations with

specific coursework to help them capitalize on the opportunities provided by a global business landscape. The curriculum includes a rich and varied program of study with liberal arts and multi-cultural components along with intensive training in the functional areas of business. Students can also apply foreign language and study abroad credits toward completion of their program.

We live and work in a globalized economy, but differences in languages, cultures, and laws make doing business across international borders a specialized and challenging field. This program widens your perspectives, teaches new approaches, heightens your cultural awareness, and prepares you to do business in the global marketplace.

Completion of the Bachelor of Science in Global Business prepares the student for a career in multinational firms, financial institutions, international organizations, and government. Graduates are qualified for continued study at the master's level.

Once matriculated at NJCU, transfer students must complete at least 30 credits at NJCU to satisfy the university’s residency requirement. Students must also maintain a GPA of 2.5 or better in courses taken in the School of Business. Students must earn a grade of C or higher in each School of Business course (ACCT, BUSI, ECON, FINC, MGMT, MKTG) used in fulfillment of a graduation requirement.
